Life is a Nine Inning Game

Some people think life is a game. They think you should make up your own rules and play by them. That’s how to get ahead in life.

I prefer a different framework. Life is a nine inning game. Yeah, like baseball. Each inning brings different challenges. Some innings are long. Some are short. Some are painful. Some are filled with joy. Some have too many pitching changes, making the game an hour too long and causing you to be exhausted at work the next day.

No two people have the same journey. Some make it to the end, some don’t make it out of the early innings.

1st inning: Age 0-19

2nd inning: Age 20-29

3rd inning: Age 30-39

4th inning: Age 40-49

5th inning: Age 50-59

6th inning: Age 60-69

7th inning: Age 70-79

8th inning: Age 80-89

9th inning: Age 90+

Most people think they’ll to make it to the end of the game. But do they really plan? Imagine yourself in the ninth inning of your life:

What does it look like?

Did you spend your time how you envisioned?

Are you prepared for the health challenges and expenses that come with age?

Did you save and invest enough?

Did you plan for all this before it was too late?

To answer all these, you need a “nine inning finance” strategy.

At Nine Inning Finance, I offer one service:

The Clubhouse

The process beings with your 9th inning in mind. I want Clubhouse members to think intentionally about their life and be prepared when the final inning comes around. I also focus on your 1st inning. I want to learn about the money scripts you picked up in your youth: from your parents, grandparents or loved ones. How do these beliefs about money affect your relationship with money today?

Life is a nine inning game, and I want to make sure the people I team with make it to the end. Whether we team up once or many times over the years, let's win the nine inning game.
